Dr Sung-Hwan Kim, the President of the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA), is a civil engineer who graduated from Seoul National University and earned his doctorate from Ohio State University in 1994. He joined the Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) in 1983, where he contributed to the country’s road infrastructure development. He worked with the company for almost 30 years. He was seconded to the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, where he never hesitated to share his knowledge and experience with international partners.
After he retired as KEC’s Executive Director-General, Dr Kim was involved with several projects in major engineering and construction companies within Korea, including Samsung C&T and Kunhwa Engineering. He is currently supervising overseas projects as the Vice President of SOILTECH Engineering.
