Ir Mohd Shahrom Ahmad Saman graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom, in 1990. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Highway and Transport Engineering from the University of Putra, Malaysia.
He has been with the Public Works Department of Malaysia for the last 29 years.
He has extensive experience in highway planning, road engineering design, road safety, and road maintenance. This has led him to play a key role in the development of numerous road projects and road safety initiatives in Malaysia. He is currently the Director of the Road and Bridge Engineering Specialist Division of the Road Branch in the Public Works Department.
He was appointed Secretary-General of REAAA in 2021. He is also a Member of the World Road Association (PIARC) Committee TC 2.4 – Road Network Operation/Intelligent Transportation System for the 2020-2023 cycle.
