Professor Dr Wong Shaw Voon, Chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) effective from 5 February 2022. Prof Wong is no stranger to the transportation and engineering industry of Malaysia as the former Director-General and Board Member of MIROS. He had also served in the MOT Special Investigation Committee which investigated and produced the report on the LRT collision in May last year. He is also a Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering & Technology and a Consultant to the United Nations on the UN Road Safety Fund.
Prof Wong holds a 1st Class Honours in Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and System Engineering and was the 1st of the class in Universiti Putra Malaysia. Subsequently, he earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Dublin City University in Ireland.
He has been a Financial Assistant to REAAA since 2017.
