Katahira Award Presentation (2006), Manila

Six technical papers were rated to be recipients for the Katahira Conference Awards for the 12th REAAA Conference. The top award for the Best Paper went to Japan’s Yukihiro Tsukada, Waka Matsuda and Kenta Hamaya of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Japan. They received USD 1,000 and a framed certificate for their paper entitled `Research on the Effect of Flexible Toll Measure and Optimal Layout of IC for Expressway Network`.

The runner-up award for the Outstanding Paper was presented to Seungjun Lee of Korea Highway Corporation for his paper entitled `Mathematical Modeling of Freeway Ramp Merging Capacity Analysis Based on Revised Headway Distribution Model`. The winner received USD500 and a framed certificate.

Four others were presented with USD250 and a framed certificate each for winning the “Highly Commended Paper”:
