The 13th Road Engineering Association of Asia (REAAA) Conference held in the Songdo Convesia Centre, Incheon, Korea from 22 to 26 September 2009 registered a record 3,500 participants from some 60 countries comprising ministers and assistant ministers and senior officials from the public and corporate sectors.
Foreign dignitaries who graced this conference, among others included the Minister of Communications, Bangladesh, Minister of Public, Combodia, Minister of Works, Malaysia, Minister of Communication, Pakistan, Minister of Infrastructure Development, Tanzania, Assistant Minister of Transport, Saudi Arabia and Undersecretary of Publics Works and Highways, Philippines.
Carrying the theme “Future Roads-Safer, Greener & Smarter”, this much sought after event were organised by Incheon Metropolitan City Government, the Korea Road & Transportation Association and supported by the Ministry of Land, Transport & Maritime Affairs, Korea Expressway Corporation, and Incheon Tourism Organisation. The Conference saw the presentation of some 260 technical papers encompassing 14 topics during the three days technical sessions.
In conjunction with the conference, the International Road & Traffic Expo 2009 (ROTREX 2009) exhibiting products and services relating to road, bridges, tunnels, traffic, parking and intelligent transport system was held. The exhibition drew some 160 local and international exhibitors.
