92nd Meeting of REAAA Governing Council (2011), Taipei, Taiwan

The REAAA Governing Council held its 92nd Meeting on 14th April 2011 in Taipei, Taiwan. The meeting had been successfully concluded with the attendance of 22 out of the 31 council members. 27 delegates from 11 participating countries, Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand attended the 92nd Council Meeting with Indonesia forming the largest delegation of 13 persons. The meeting has been considered very fruitful as several important decisions were made and key proposals adopted. They included the nomination and confirmation for the Coordinator and Officer in charge of the REAAA Strategy Map and Initiatives 2011-2012, the progress of the REAAA Strategy Map and Initiatives 2011-2012, the preparation for the 10th Head of Road Authorities Meeting, the setting up of the HORA Advisory Panel for Compendium of Road Safety: Make it Happen, plan of 2nd MINO Roadshow and the input for updating the forthcoming events in REAAA member countries.

The Vice President, Dr. A.Hermanto Dardak of IRDA, Indonesia presided over the 92nd Council meeting as the President since Dato’ Sri Prof.Ir. Dr. Judin Abdul Karim was unable to attend the meeting due to prior pressing commitments.

The meeting discussed various issue on the operations of the secretariat and approved various reports tabled by the Finance Committee, Technical Committee, Membership Promotions Committee, International Coordinator Committee, Katahira Fund Committee and the Honorary Secretary. The meeting also looked into these important events, key issue and challenges with confidence and determination.
