99th Meeting of REAAA Governing Council (2014), Bali, Indonesia

The REAAA Governing Council held its 99th Meeting on 22nd  April 2014 in Bali, Indonesia.

The meeting was successful, with 26 out of the 34 council members attending. A total of 30 delegates from nine countries (Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand) attended the meeting. The Secretary General of PIARC, Mr. Jean-François Corte, also attended for part of the meeting.

Several important decisions were made and key proposals adopted. This included the appointment of an Interim CEO of REAAA, the setting-up of the Executive Management Team (EMT) to monitor the performance of the Interim CEO, progress in the REAAA Strategy Map and Initiatives 2013-2017, the preparation for the 100th REAAA Council meeting in Sydney, and input into forthcoming events in REAAA member countries. The appointment of an Interim CEO is key to improving revitalizing REAAA to further meet the aspirations and goals of its Members and Key Stake Holders. Mr. Gandhi Harahap as the CEO to prepare the role of Interim CEO.

The 99th REAAA Council meeting in Bali, Indonesia has adopted Ms.Nonon Wardhani to serve as Co-opted Council member.

The President, Dr. A. Hermanto Dardak, presided over the meeting. With reference to the agenda, the meeting discussed various issues regarding the operations of the secretariat and approved various reports tabled by the Finance Committee, Technical Committee, Membership Promotions Committee, International Coordination Committee, Katahira Fund Committee and the Honorary Secretary-General’s report. The Executive Management Team (EMT) and the Council has maintained oversight and direction of the CEO.
